SLAF destroys Tiger radio station

The fighter jets of the Sri Lanka Air Force yesterday destroyed a
clandestine radio station of the LTTE located in the South of
Kilinochchi around 4.30 p.m. hours before LTTE leader Velupillai
Prabhakaran was to deliver his annual speech.
The clandestine radio station located in Thiruvaiaru, close to the
international communication centre which was destroyed by the SLAF on
November 2 causing the death of LTTE Political Wing leader S.P.
Thamilselvan.
The pilots of the fighter jets confirmed that the target was
effectively hit in the air raid carried out yesterday, Air Force
Spokesman Group Captain Ajantha Silva told the Daily News.
The LTTE also in a press communique admitted that one of their radio
stations was flattened by the air raid by the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The LTTE had set up these radio stations after importing
state-of-the-art communication equipment under the cover of the
Ceasefire Agreement.
The SLAF also carried two air raids in Kilinochchi and
Puthukuduiruppu on Sunday and Monday targeting LTTE international
communication centres and hideouts of senior LTTE leaders.
