Thirty four teams for Mercantile Super League Cager Tourney

Thirty four teams will take part in the Mercantile Delmege Super League Tournament 2007 which will get underway today at two different venues in Colombo, Otters courts and Mercantile Cricket Association courts and will be continued till December 14. The tournament is organised by the Mercantile Services Basketball Association and sponsored by the Delmege Group.

The men's matches will be worked off in four divisions while the women's teams will be contested in two divisions.

The division `A' mens comprise favourites Delmege Group, Dialog Telekom, Akbar Brothers, Nations Trust Bank, DFCC Group and Sampath Bank.

David Peiris Motor Company, Seylan Bank and Hatton National Bank vie for honours in the women's 'A' division.

The 'B' division which comprised ten men's teams have been grouped into two. The group 'A' includes Ranawana and Company, Srilankan Airlines, Mas Holdings, Hatton National Bank and Commercial Bank.

The group 'B' consist of Hayleys Group, Amana Group, HSBC, David Peiris Motor Company and Union Assurance Limited.

The women's 'B' division features Hayleys Group, Srilankan Airlines and Mas Holdings.

The men's 'C' division comprise Seylan Bank, David Peiris Motor Company 'B', Ceylinco Group and Nations Trust Bank 'B'.

The 'D' division which is featuring eight teams have grouped into two groups. Singer Sri Lanka, Airport and Aviation Services, Sri Lankan Air Lines 'B' and Global Payment Asia Pacific Private Limited are the teams who take part in the group 'A' while for group 'B' Mas Holdings Group 'B', Mobitel, Eagle Insurance Company and Metropolitan Group.

Today Singer will confront Airport and Aviation in their opening match of the tournament with Seylan Bank will take on David Peiris Motor Company in the 'D' and 'C' divisions respectively at Otters Courts. Ranawana and Company will meet SriLankan Airlines in a 'B' division fixture at the same venue today.

Fancied Seylan Bank will be up against David Peiris Motor Company in their opening women's 'A' division match today at MCA, courts. MAS Holdings will battle it out against Mobitel while Hayleys Group will take on Amana Group in the other matches at MCA courts today.

Tomorrow, Airport and Aviation will meet Srilankan Airlines 'B', Ceylinco will be up against Nations Trust Bank 'B' and Srilankan Airlines will confront Mas Holdings at Otters Courts.

Hayleys Group will play against Srilankan Airlines in a women's 'B' division fixture, Mobitel will meet Eagle Insurance Company while Delmege Group will take on Dialog Telekom in an 'A' division men's fixture at MCA, courts.
