CMA Business Management Conference
The Society of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka has
organised the CMA Business Management Conference on the theme "Corporate
Bottom line Management".
Dr. Uditha Liyanage will address at the inaugural session.
The conference will be inaugurated today and the four technical
sessions tomorrow on Bottom Line Management, Performance Enhancement,
Building Successful Companies and Meeting New Challenges.
In the first and second sessions six topics will be presented.
Activity Based Cost Management will cover the basic concepts and case
studies to demonstrate the effectiveness and their contemporary
application.
Business Planning and evaluation using the Balanced Score Card,
performance management and measurement to achieve dynamism and
competitiveness, bottom line beyond financials and some of the practical
experiences that will be presented by the speakers.
Treasury management, exchange rate movements, currency depreciation,
financial instruments will be discussed. Beyond Budgeting will focus on
the limitations of the conventional budgeting systems and radical
proposition of effectively managing a business without budgets.
In the third and fourth sessions mitigation risk management, types of
risks and techniques to manage risks will be covered. The need to Link
performance/productivity to wage packages will be presented. It will
also focus on some of the mechanisms employers have successfully adopted
in introducing these concepts to companies.
The importance of corporate rating and transparency will be
discussed. Corporate governance, audit committees, independent directors
will also be covered. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) for the
financial and accounting professional and carving a niche for Sri Lankan
companies will be presented.
An innovative insight into Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and
making it a par of your business together with practical experience will
be highlighted.
Reputed speakers from overseas will chair the sessions and together
with government and business leaders will address the conference,
President Prof Lakshman R. Watawala said.
A special event of the conference will be the presentations to be
made for the CMA Award for Excellence in Business Management. |
