Record ERP growth for IFS

The global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) growth rate presently
stands at 7 to 8 per cent, Vice President, South Asia, Industrial and
Financial Solutions, Jayantha de Silva said.
An anniversary celebration held to commemorate ten years of IFS in
Sri Lanka. He said IFS has a recorded an ERP growth rate of 15 per cent.
The organisation has recognised South Asia as a high potential zone
in the global IT industry. Forty per cent of the annual profit for this
year was recorded from the South Asian region, and 50 per cent of the
profit for 2008 would be generated from the South Asian region, he said.
IFS has termed the next ten years as 'The Decade of Asia'.
Managing Director, IFS Sri Lanka, Jonathan Bridgewater highlighted
that the education standard of Sri Lankans are at a high level. "The
education and university systems attracted IFS to Sri Lanka.", he said.
Software Engineering Director of IFS, Sajith Peiris said IFS has
produced over 900 groomed professionals to the Sri Lanka IT industry
over the past decade. The company currently hosts mentoring programmes
to support startups in the field. IFS has awarded 90 scholarships to IT
undergraduates and is presently planning on working closely with
universities and other IT education institutions. |
