Royal and MAS enter final
National Waterpolo Championships:

The Defending champions MAS Sports Club and Royal College entered the
finals of the Men's Open at the National Waterpolo Championships began
at the Sugathadasa Stadium Sports Complex yesterday.
MAS Sports Club defeated Otter AC by six goals to five in the first
semifinals.
The goal setters for MAS SC were Rajitha Warnapura (two), Dhanushka
Saram (two) and Ranga Warnapura, Lasitha Perera one goal each Tissa Sri
Chandrasekera (two), Kushan Yapa (two) and Rajeev Gamage scored for
Otter AC.
Royal outplayed Sri Lanka Air Force by 11 goals to three with goals
coming from Billal Hassan (four) Shehan Dassanayake (three) Yahan
Samarajeewa (two) Rushmika Nissantha (two). The finals will be played on
Saturday on completion of the swimming events around 7.00 p.m.
Ladies College qualified to meet Visakha Vidyalaya in the Open
Women's final to be played today (Friday) at 7.00 p.m.
In the semifinals Ladies College beat Sri Lanka Air Force nine-three
and Visakha Vidyalaya beat Bishop College five-one respectively.
Royal will meet S. Thomas' College in the junior boys U-15 finals.
Royal and S. Thomas' had wins over Thurstan six-three and Nalanda 11-0
respectively in the semis.
In the Girls Under-15 Vishaka Vidyalaya will meet Ladies College in
the final. Santha Perera, Fareed Noor Amir, S. A. Ranasinghe and Aloka
Prelis officiated at the matches. |
