Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom unveils the ceremonial plaque at the Central Library Building in Male, accompanied by Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogallagama. The Sri Lanka Government constructed the library building for the Maldives College of Higher Education to assist in the development of infrastructure for higher education in the Maldives. The Maldives College of Higher Education which would receive the gift of this facility will be upgraded to become the first University in the Maldives.

Dialog Telekom introduced Broadband Internet powered by WiMAX for the first time to the Sri Lankan customers from yesterday. This is also the first time that it is being introduced to the region.
