Minister denies meeting person with terror links

Media and Information Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa yesterday denied charges that he had met a person who had terrorist links.

Yapa said he met such a person who accompanied Dr. Jayalath Jayawardana at the Inter Parliamentary Union Meeting in Geneva.

This individual held a specially designed Identity Card. "There was no such close meeting as claimed by Dr. Jayawardana.

Please ask about him from Dr. Jayawardane who knows the real story more than I. I never had any contact with anybody other than attending to my officially assignments." He said Dr. Jayawardana had been provided with a security detail that exceeded his own, including eight Security personnel.
