Open art contest for disabled
MORATUWA: The ESCO Rehab Sri Lanka based in Egodauyana, Moratuwa will
hold an open art competition among the disabled.
The theme of the art competition is ‘Empowerment of the Disabled’
civic rights such as equality, non-discrimination and equal recognition
before the society and law, accessability, equal education, equal
participation in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sports etc.
Those wishing to submit paintings should forward them to the General
Secretary at 26, Egodauyana, Moratuwa on or before October 31.
Best 100 selected will be displayed at the exhibition on December 3
to mark ‘World Disabled Day’. The first place winner will be awarded Rs.
5,000 and second and third places Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000. Ten
consolation prizes of Rs. 500 will also be awarded.
All paintings must be on 18” x 12” drawing paper and any colour code
could be used except platignum and collage.
The title of the painting must be mentioned on the top right hand
corner of the drawing paper.
The following details should be entered on the reverse. Name and
address; Age; Type of disability, and School or Institute.
The head of the school or institute should certify that the paintings
has been done by the competitor. Information could be obtained fromESCO
