'MiGs biggest problem LTTE faces today'

COLOMBO: The biggest problem faced by the LTTE today is the Sri Lanka Air Forces MiG aircraft. When MiGs take off from Katunayake Airport all the LTTE terrorists creep into their underground bunkers. Now the LTTE has given the task of removing MiGs from the Air Force to the Opposition Leader, Power Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said.

Addressing the weekly press briefing at the Government Information Department Auditorium yesterday Minister Aluthgamage said that the task handed over to the Opposition Leader by the LTTE is now in action.

Minister Aluthgamage said because of MiGs the SLA can minimize the casualties and take accurate LTTE targets. But the LTTE use human shields and the Government Forces cannot attack them. The allegations posed by the UNP against the Government in connection with the MiG aircraft's or any other issue cannot be proved and all the allegations are just allegations.

"The Opposition Leader finds out something to hang on to time to time and these days he hangs on to corruption and that is why he constantly talks about MiGs and Brothers Company, the Minister added.
