Lankan trade delegation in Muscat

The high level Sri Lankan trade delegation comprising eight members from different organisations arrived on September 4, on a four day visit to the Sultanate.

They will meet Omani counterparts, aimed at promoting bilateral trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. The delegation represents key sectors, including food stuff, chemicals, tea and rubber products.

The visit of the Lankan delegation is on an invitation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). They will meet Minister of Commerce and Industry Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, and join leading businessmen of Oman at a meeting organised by OCCI.

They will also visit prominent hypermarkets to make a survey and gain first hand information about the functioning of such institutions.

The Sultanate and Sri Lanka are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the respective Chamber of Commerce to promote bilateral trade.
