Management tips:
How to minimise stress at work?
Dr. K. KUHATHASAN
STRESS IS an integral part of work. Work today is complex and it is
impossible to arrest stress completely. However, the impact of stress
can be minimised. How much a person encounters and how to deal with it
has a direct connection with mental health.
Psychologists are of opinion that a mental exercise, as the first
activity in the morning, can contribute towards minimising the degree of
stress at work.
The first ten minutes of the day is said to be the ‘most productive
time’ for the whole day. It is the time for you to programme and
condition your mind to be steady, smart and ready to face the challenges
of the day in a bold and brave manner.
You have to wake up with positive thoughts, warm up with optimistic
ideas, whip up your mind with pleasing, pleasant, cheerful thoughts and
cheer up yourself for a happy, healthy and productive day.
Your action and activities for the whole day is determined by the
flash of thoughts that you feed into your mind during the first ten
minutes of the day.
Therefore, it is necessary to take a wake up mental resolution and
activate your mind and other electromagnetic fields in your body to act
against any stressful agents.
Try this mental exercise daily, as you get up from your bed. It is
recommended that each self assertive pledge is repeated at least four or
five times.
1. Today is a good day!
2. Today is a fine day!
3. Today is an excellent day!
4. I am going to perform well today!
5. I am going to shine well today!
6. I will be a very happy, healthy and pleasant today!
7. I will be steady, strong, sound and smart today!
8. I will be a winner today!
9. I will be active and alert today!
10. I will be positive, constructive, dynamic and cheerful today. |
