Di was pregnant, but Dodi wasn’t dad’
BRITAIN: Diana, Princess of Wales, was “almost certainly” pregnant
when she died almost a decade ago in an accident in Paris, according to
a new claim made by a French investigative journalist.
However, 42-year-old Dodi Fayed, who died in the car mishap with her,
was not the father of the baby, according to a newspaper report.
French investigative journalist Chris Laffaille told the Daily Mail
that he uncovered evidence of Diana’s pregnancy from official archives
of the Paris hospital where the princess was taken after the crash on
the night of August 31, 1997.
“This document has never been claimed or proved to be a fake,”
Laffaille added. If genuine, it would mean Diana’s unborn child would
not have been fathered by Dodi Fayed, because she had not met him nine
weeks before her death.
Instead, he said, the baby may have been conceived while she was
seeing Pakistan-born heart surgeon Hasnat Khan.
Diana was “almost certainly” nine to ten weeks pregnant when she
died, the French journalist said.
However, John Burton, the former royal coroner present at Diana’s
post-mortem, has categorically insisted, “She wasn’t pregnant. I have
seen into her womb.”
