GMOA protests internship plans
COLOMBO: The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA)
has warned of stern action if the MBBS graduates of Jaffna Medical
Faculty are confined to the North and the East with their internship
placements.
In a release issued recently, the GMOA states: “Representations were
made to GMOA by MBBS graduates of Jaffna Medical Faculty that there is a
move to confine their internship placements to North and the East.
This is a direct violation of common merit list prepared by
University Grants Commission and it is in violation of the fundamental
rights of intern doctors and departmental transfer policy and circulars.
This will also lead to lot of unnecessary consequences in several
aspects.
As such GMOA would protest this move in strongest possible means. We
request you to strictly adhere to merit order of the interns in
allocation of intern places without discriminating any category. |
