CPC opts for Reliance

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has bought by tender 310,000 barrels of gas oil and gasoline from India's Reliance for mid-September delivery, a company source said yesterday.

Ceypetco is also seeking an additional 40,000 barrels of mid-sulphur gas oil for late-September delivery via a new tender that will close on August 21, the source said.

The CPC paid private Indian refiner Reliance a premium of $ 2.58 per barrel to Singapore spot quotes for 185,000 barrels of 0.25 per cent sulphur gas oil, on a cost-and-freight (C&F) basis.
