Ceylinco shelter for homeless

Ceylinco Group has made arrangements to start a new programme for building homes for employees of Ceylinco Group who do not own homes: For this function, Ceylinco group has taken steps to establish a fund called "Home for Homeless Fund".

This programme was inaugurated at Fingara Town and Country Club of Old Kesbewa Road, Rattanapitiya, Boralasgamuwa and it is implemented on the concept and advice of Ceylinco Group Chairman Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotelawala and Mrs. Kotelawala.


AGREEMENT: Ceylinco Group Chairman Deshamanya Lalith Kotalawela handing over the agreement to Aruna Shantha to build the first home.

The Ceylinco Home for Homeless Fund which was established for that purpose intends to provide homes free of charge for Ceylinco employees because the employees are considered as the most important factor which contributes to the progress of the Ceylinco Group.

Those employees who counts 3 years of continuous permanent service and whose take away monthly salary is less than Rs. 15,000 are qualified to be benefited from this programme.

It is intended to purchase lands upto a maximum value of Rs. 300,000 for beneficiaries of this programme who are free to select the land of their choice and to prepare the deeds for such lands and a house will be built on such land by the fund at a maximum cost of Rs. 350,000.

The Ceylinco Home for Homeless Fund functions under the direct supervision of our chairman and their is an executive committee representing all Ceylinco Companies.

The Fund is manage by a board comprising valuers, surveyors and Attorney-at-Law. The employees who need facilities may make applications to the fund through the respective Executive Committee members of their Company and the committee select beneficiaries with the consent of the Executive Committee and concurrence of the Chairman.

On the first day of the commencement of this Home for Homeless Fund programme, action will be taken to build homes for 160 members.

Ceylinco group Chairman Deshamanya Lalith Kotelawala handed over the agreement to build the first home of this programme to Aruna Shantha of Kalutara who is an employee of Ceylinco Insurance Company Limited for 7 years.

This happened on the first day this programme was inaugurated officially. Also agreements were handed over employees of Companies such as Golden Key, The Finance Company Limited, Ceylinco Cisco, Ceylinco Printing, Blue Diamonds.
