TTSC soccer sevens on Sunday

SOCCER: The 29th Travel Trade Sports Club soccer sevens sponsored for the 9th successive year by SriLankan Airlines kicks off this Sunday August 12 at St. Joseph’s College Darley Road grounds at 8.30 a.m.

The teams participating this year are as follows.

Traveller Global “A” and “B”, SriLankan Airlines “A” and “B”, Cinnamon Grand “A” and “B”, Ramada Resort, Kalutara, Hilton Colombo, Light House, Galle, Trans Asia Hotel, Hilton Colombo Residence, Neptune Hotel, Beruwala, Blue Oceanic Hotel Negombo, Taj Exotica, Bentota, Taj Airport Garden Hotel, Seeduwa, Taj Samudra Hotel, The Beach, Negombo, Royal Palms/ Tangerine Beach, Kalutara, Amaya Hills, Kandy, Walkers Tours, Mount Lavinia Hotel and Grand Oriental Hotel.

The defending champions are Traveller Global who will be severely challenged by the SriLankan, Light House, Trans Asia and Cinnamon Grand.

Last Year’s results:

“Cup” - Traveller Global “A” beat SriLankan Airlines “A” 2-0.

“Plate” - Traveller Global “B” beat Light House, Galle on Penalties.

“Bowl” - SriLankan Airlines “B” beat Goldi Sands, Negombo 2-0.

Special Awards on offer are for the most Promising Player, Most Outstanding player, Most Valuable Player and the Best Goal Keeper.
