Principals alerted on inflammatory campaign

COLOMBO: All school principals are advised by the Ministry of Education not to allow any person, group or organisation to circulate leaflets, booklets, handbills etc. that promote communalism, separatism or religious bigotry, among schoolchildren.

The decision comes in the wake of information received by the authorities of certain mischievous elements attempting to spread disharmony among the public by using inflammatory methods to cause unrest in the country.

The Ministry of Education has directed all Principals to promptly inform the police of any such incidents within schools or in their vicinity.
