Killing an innocent driver shows LTTE’s barbarism

COLOMBO: Religious Affairs Minister Pandu Bandaranayake has condemned the abduction and killing of G.R.C.S. Udayakumara, driver attached to the Directress of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs of his Ministry as an act of barbarism by the LTTE which is in a frenzy after its ignominious defeat in the East.

Bandaranayake said he was shocked to hear of Udayakumara’s murder while he is in Bangladesh on an official visit. Udayakumara was an efficient and diligent employee personally well-known to him. Killing an innocent unarmed man like him displayed the savagery of the LTTE terrorists.

Regretting his inability to attend Udayakumara’s funeral due to his preoccupation with official duties abroad Bandaranayake has said he would convey deepest sympathies on behalf of the Government and his personal behalf to Udayakumara’s parents and other family members.
