Sampath Bank and Eagle Insurance join forces

STRATEGIC - TIE-UP: Sampath Bank and Eagle Insurance announced the launch of their Bancassurance partnership. With this strategic tie-up, a wide spectrum of financial solutions will be made available to the Bank’s valued clientele.

This will include a range of Life and General insurance products which will be specially designed for Sampath Bank. These products will be underwritten by Eagle Insurance.

The Bancassurance agreement signed with Sampath Bank will provide Life and General insurance solutions to a customer base of 900,000 individuals and a corporate customer base, consisting of 500 large companies.

The Bank has a branch network of over 100 outlets spread across the island. Sampath Bank revolutionised the banking sector in Sri Lanka when it introduced ATMs and an on-line Branch network over two decades ago. To date the Bank enjoys a superior position in the market and shares a set of core values similar to that of Eagle.

CEO and Managing Director, Sampath Bank, Anil Amarasuriya commented saying, “We are delighted to join hands with Eagle Insurance as this partnership provides our customers with the best of insurance and investment options so that they may enjoy greater flexibility, and control.”

Since Eagle, became a member of the Aviva group the Company pioneered Bancassurance in Sri Lanka and has evolved as the leader in Bancassurance. Eagle believes that the Company is well positioned to add value to its partner Sampath Bank and its customers through Aviva’s global expertise in Bancassurance.
