Akashi meets President

COLOMBO: Japanese Special Peace Envoy Yasushi Akashi met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees last afternoon.

During the discussion with the visiting envoy, President Rajapaksa explained in detail about the steps the Government has taken to continue the peace process.

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Hussein Bhaila, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Foreign Secretary Dr. Palitha Kohona also participated at this discussion.
