Student rape case:

Two teachers interdicted

KURUNEGALA: Two assistant teachers of a school in Kurunegala were interdicted by the Wayamba Provincial Council Chief Minister Athula Wijesinghe yesterday in connection with the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl from the same school.

The two teachers are alleged to have taken the girl to a rest house at Minuwangoda and raped her several times Wayamba Provincial Council Chairman Darmasiri Dassanayake told the council yesterday.

The Kurunegala Education Department is investigating.
