Foreign Minister condoles

Colombo: In a condolence message sent to Russian Foreign Minister Sergel Lavrov, Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollogama said:” I have been deeply grieved by the news of the death of Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin, the former President of Russian Federation.

I am aware that the late President was instrumental in introducing changes which made a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Russia and his passing away would be greatly felt by all those who admired his courage, foresight and sincerity.

I extend my sincere condolences to Your Excellency and my heartfelt sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.”
