CNCI Achievers Awards on July 6

AWARDS:The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI), the
Industrial Chamber in a bid to recognise and reward excellence in the
country’s industrial entrepreneurship in both manufacturing and service
sectors will hold the CNCI Achievers Awards for the sixth consecutive
year on July six at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton Hotel, Colombo. The media
sponsor for the event is Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited.
This event which was launched by CNCI six years ago to promote
industrial growth in the country is unique not only among the Chambers
but also for Sri Lanka because it recognises Industrialists especially
those who have excelled in the manufacturing sector in enhancing the
quality standards, productivity, employee benefits, labour relations,
adherence to statutory requirements. CNCI extends this competition to
the SAARC Regional countries as well.
Chairman of CNCI A.K. Ratnarajah said the participation is open to
any sole proprietorship, partnership or limited liability company
engaged in a manufacturing or specified service industry for at least
three consecutive financial years ending either March 31, 2006 or
December 31, 2006 in Sri Lanka or in any Sri Lankan industry operating
in a SAARC regional country.
He added that there will be special SAARC regional country awards
presented to an outstanding industry and business, which has achieved
industrial excellence as nominated by the respective Chambers of each of
the SAARC countries. Another unique feature of this event is that it
recognises those industrialists who have ventured into SAARC areas and
set up industry of their own or have 50% or more share holding in such
enterprises.
Winners would be selected in five categories, Extra large, Large,
Medium, Small and Micro, and the participants could vie for honours at
Provincial Level as well as at National Level. This year CNCI has added
extra large category to encourage mega industries in the country to
participate in the contest. Each category will be awarded Gold, Silver,
Bronze trophies and two merit plaques.
Awards Categories are Sri Lankan National Award - Five categories -
Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small and Micro. For each category there
will be a Gold, Silver, Bronze and two Merit Awards.
Provincial Award - Three categories - Medium, Small and Micro. For
each category there will be a Gold, Silver, Bronze and two Merit Awards.
Outstanding entry for the “Provincial Award” will also be considered for
the “Sri Lankan National Award”.
