President meets JVP delegation
COLOMBO: A meeting was held between President Mahinda Rajapaksa and a
JVP delegation at Temple Trees yesterday.
According to a media release issued by the Presidential Secretariat,
the discussions lasted almost an hour focusing on how the two parties
could work together in future maintaining a good rapport and
understanding.
They discussed at length the forthcoming budget, the current
political situation in the country and also directed their attention to
the prevailing situation in the North and East.
The Sri Lanka Freedom Party was represented at the discussion by
Ministers Maithripala Sirisena, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Susil
Premajayantha, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Mangala Samaraweera and MP
Dulles Alahapperuma.
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna was represented by MPs Wimal Weerawansa,
Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, K.D. Lal Kantha and Secretary Tilvin Silva,
the media release added.
