CCC post-budget seminar on November 20
SEMINAR: The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual
post-Budget seminar "Budget 2007", on the November 20. It will be held
from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Ground Floor Auditorium of the
Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, 50, Navam Mawatha, Colombo 02.
The intention of this seminar is to educate and alert the private
sector and interested individuals about the implications and
consequences of the National Budget 2007 on business and the macro
economy.
Chaired by J. D. Bandaranayake, Vice Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber
of Commerce, this seminar will stage Dr. P. B. Jayasundara, Secretary to
the Treasury, who will address the gathering on the Policy Directions of
Budget 2007.
Highlighting the Economic Implications of the Budget will be Dr.
Anura Ekanayake, Deputy Vice Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce,
and H. B. A. Seneviratne, Commissioner Tax Policy and Rulings at the
Department of Inland Revenue will draw attention to the tax proposals of
the Budget.
The agenda also includes a panel discussion by Premila Perera, Patner
Head of Tax Services, KPMG Sri Lanka, Duminda Hulangamuwa, Partner,
Ernst & Young, Kalurachchi, Deputy Commissioner General of VAT,
Department of Inland Revenue, and N.R.Gajendran, Senior Partner, Gajma &
Co.
This seminar will prove to be an ideal opportunity for the private
sector to interact with well-informed policy makers, economists and tax
experts on matters pertaining to the National Budget. Registration will
