Holcim commends duty free cement imports

CEMENT: Holcim Lanka Chairman Manilal Fernando commended the decision taken by BOI to allow import of some duty free items including cement for BOI ventures.

Holcim (Lanka) Limited is a company that has invested over USD 125 million in the cement industry in Sri Lanka. "We are the owners of factories in Puttalam and Galle. The factory in Puttalam is a fully integrated plant fully modernised to the latest world standards and in Galle the Ruhunu Cement Works is a grinding plant which has also been modernised to the latest standards" he said.

Therefore, the BOI has had the courage to act very correctly by protecting people who have invested in Sri Lanka said the Chairman.
