Relief for Ampara tsunami victims

COLOMBO: The Deputy Minister of Mass Media and Information and Highways Cegu Issadeen had taken steps to rehabilitate the tsunami victims in the Ampara district. He had invited several organisations to rally round to make his venture a success.

In response to his request Islamic Relief Charity organisation had pledged their support to the Deputy Minister to provide houses to the homeless, lavatories, poultry farms, livestock farms including various other amenities.

The head of the organisation Janab Mohamed Ahamed Mao met the Deputy Minister at his office recently. The organisation has already commenced several development projects and on the directions of the Deputy Minister the aid team expects to visit the most devastated areas in the district in the near future. The liaison co-ordinator of the organisation Janab Fahim Wahab and Planning Manager Janab Nasrul Kabeer also participated.
