President condoles

COLOMBO: President Mahinda Rajapaksa has extended his condolences to the families of the seven victims of the LTTE landmine in Wilpattu and those of the 13 farmers killed by the LTTE in Welikanda.

The President has condemned in the strongest terms these brutal acts of the terrorists at a time when the Government was making an honest bid to usher permanent peace to the country.

He said the victims in the twin attacks belonged to Sinhala and Tamil communities.

They had contributed a valuable service to the country.
