Ethnic peace through water tank rebuilding
ASIAN action for Peace and Development was the 'theme' and 'core' of the
unique and yet very basic project initiated on June 28 last year, in
far-off Morawewa within area of conflict for many years in the
Trincomalee District, for rebuilding/renovating centuries old rain-fed
water tanks for the natural and vital resource water, which had been
freely available for the people for their use and development and
through it the economic conditions which had been a strong bond between
the three communities which live together.
