China opposes draft enlargement of UN Security Council
CHINA opposes enlarging the UN Security Council by
giving Brazil, Germany, India and Japan each a permanent seat on the UN
body, Chinese UN ambassador Wang Guangya said Thursday. If those four
countries, dubbed G4, continue their proposal, China would oppose it,
Wang told reporters at UN headquarters.

Separatist leaders propose Kashmiri presence in Indo-Pak talks
MUSLIM separatist leaders from Indian Kashmir
proposed three-way talks on the decades old dispute over the Himalayan
region after arriving here on an historic visit. "We have proposed
triangular talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmiris," moderate leader
of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said
after the Kashmiri leaders received a rousing welcome.
