Major's killing : Breakthrough soon, says IGP

Four special Police Intelligence Units comprising 150 police
personnel yesterday commenced investigations into the killing of Major
Nizam Muthaliph.
IGP Chandra Fernando told the Daily News yesterday that the Police
teams have been directed to collect clues at the scene and to record
evidence from the eye witnesses at the scene of the crime.
Security has been tightened in Colombo and special search operations
will be conducted to apprehend the suspects, the IGP said.
"We will be able to make a breakthrough very soon", the IGP said.
Meanwhile, Additional JMO Dr. Hadun Wijeywardena who performed the
autopsy yesterday, observed that seven internal injuries and four
external injuries in the head and chest areas would have caused the
death. |
