Joint mechanisms could lead to solution to national problem -

The Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) is not opposed to Joint
Mechanisms in each of the districts of the North and East affected
by the tsunami that would recognise the political and ethnic
pluralism of those districts, said Douglas Devananda, Minister of
Agricultural Marketing Development, Co-operative Development, Hindu
Affairs and Tamil Languages Schools and Vocational Training (North)
at the Suriyawela Festival organised by the Ministry of
Constitutional Reforms.

NLF endorses moves towards joint mechanism
National Left Front Leader Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne yesterday
said his party fully endorsed the decision to establish a "joint
mechanism" with the LTTE to distribute tsunami relief.
