Army moves in to control violence in East

Amidst a series of killings reported in the East an Army foot patrol yesterday apprehended two cadres from the LTTE Wanni faction with a T-56 weapon and two hand grenades while on their way towards Mavadivembu in Batticaloa on a motorbike, Military Spokesman Colonel Sumedha Perera told the Daily News yesterday.
