On the campaign trail 
United People’s Freedom Alliance co-organizer and former Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse met the people of the Hungama and Barawakumbuka areas in the Hambantota district recently. The people told him about their problems. The former Opposition Leader informed them that special emphasis will be laid to solve their problems by an Alliance Government elected on April 2. Popular actress Sangeetha Weeraratne was also present.

Great Mahapola Trust fund swindle

The United People's Freedom Alliance has bared another massive racket involving monetary assets of the Mahapola Trust Fund where Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake has allegedly transferred these funds to a private company named, "National Wealth Corporation Ltd" which is said to be operated by a close associate of the United National Party.

S.B. Dissanayake robbed Rs. 830m Samurdhi savings - President

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga yesterday told Samurdhi beneficiaries she would release their compulsory savings maintained under the Samurdhi movement to respective beneficiaries with interest, under a Freedom Alliance Government.
