Public Sector salary review committee

In furtherance of the budget proposal announced in November, 2003 the Cabinet of Ministers decided yesterday to appoint with immediate effect a Public Sector Salary Review Committee to review and report on Public Sector salary scales and related matters including existing anomalies in the Public Sector salaries, states a Finance Ministry press release.

The Minister of Finance, K. N. Choksy has appointed the following to this committee: N. H. Pathirana, former Director General of Establishments, Ministry of Public Administration, Management and Reforms, Ms. G. Satkunanathan, former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Dr. A. M. Beligaswatta, former Director General of Health Services, R. W. Piyasena, former Director of Pensions. A. Rajapakse, Additional Director General, Department of National Budget will act as Secretary to the Committee.
