The President in response to representations made by temporary and casual employees of the private sector, specially those coming under the Board of Investment, has addressed a letter to Labour Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe on March 12 requesting him to arrange with employers to pay the March salary on or before March 31. These employees have made this appeal to the President because they were in difficulty to find financial means to go to their native places for the purpose of casting their vote on April 02. These employees normally receive their March pay on April 10, states a press release issued by the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. |
