Meelad Day message from Western Province Governor

"In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful.

"All praise to be the Almighty Allah with the grace of whom I am giving this message to the magazine published to mark the Meelad Day, the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) who was sent as an apostle of the Almighty Allah and a favour to the universe.

"Prophet Mohamed was sent as a mercy to the people in the world. The meaning of the word 'Mohamed' 'is the one who is praised'. He is also known as 'Ahamed' which is more respectful and means the same, his respectful name is the most appropriate to the man who is the apostle of Almighty Allah. Though he is a man he is glorified in comparison with the others.

"He was an excellent exemplar who showed beautiful pattern of conduct in each and every stage of his life. Adherence to his exalted standard of character will prosper own life.

"Therefore let us keep the preaching's of Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) such as monotheism, brotherhood, unity, integrity and peace in own minds on this day of commemorating his birth. Let us live in the light of Al Quran. Let us follow the footsteps of the greatest apostle of Mecca. I desire and hope that this festival the Muslims celebrate to commemorate him shall be meaningful and bring about more advantages. We are living in a multinational country and let us live ethnically united with the other people. The preaching's of Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) are applicable for ever. Let us pray the Almight Allah for peace, unity, prosperity and intimacy among us in our motherland.

S. Alavi Mowlana, Governor, WP
