New Lake House (ANCL) Chairman Nalin Ladduwahetty will have to strive hard to uplift the Lake House from the present pathetic situation, Chief Incumbent of the Nalandaramaya, Nugegoda Thiniyawala Palitha Thera said, addressing a function last Saturday in connection with the assuming of duties by the new Lake House Chairman. "The late D.R.Wijewardane protected the Lake House for the people and the nation. Therefore, this place should be treated like a place of religious worship," he added. He stressed that the new management should determine to publish correct and factual information to the people unlike the past PA regime. "People stopped buying Lake House papers during the last seven years because of misleading information", he said. "The new management should take steps to win back the confidence of the people by publishing accurate and balanced news under the Government's new media policy, he said. He noted that the new Chairman should identify the talents of the employees and treat them equally in order to improve the institution.
