President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga delivered a speech at the Oxford Union on Monday, October 29, 2001. The speech was well received by over 600 students who sat in pin-drop silence as it was a historic moment since her father was the first non-white to be elected as an office bearer of this prestigious body.
