LTTE abduct six civilians LTTE terrorists abducted six civilians who were travelling in a private cab from Marathamunai towards Periyaneelawela 3 kms off Kalmunai Monday. Two of them are involved in politics in the area. They have been identified as A.M. Rakeep and M.M. Anjan. A Policeman and a civilian were killed when terrorists opened fire at the Police team engaged in security clearance in Eravur on Tuesday. Reinforcements rushed from a nearby Army Detachment and cleared the area. Troops fired artillery and mortar at an LTTE terrorist strong point in the general area of Omanthai on Tuesday killing three terrorists. |
