The foundation stone for the construction of the first ever Holiday Resort in Pasikudah beach was laid yesterday by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa as part of the Government program to promote eco-tourism in the Eastern Province. The Amaya Resorts group is investing Rs 250 million for this 40-room holiday resort which will be constructed as a traditional fishing village. Deputy Resettlement Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan, Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, Tourist Board Chairman Nalaka Godahewa, Eastern Province Governor Mohan Wijewickrema and Amaya Resorts Chairman Chandra Wickremasinghe look on.
