Lankan promotion in Philippines
The Sri Lanka - Philippine Business Council (LankaPhil) will
participate in the first Sri Lanka tourism, investment and trade
promotion forum to be held in July 8 and 9 in Manila.
Over 200 participants from the travel, trade, and investment sectors
as well as representatives from the Consular Corps and leading business
clubs in the Philippines are expected to attend.
The LankaPhil Executive Committee led by President Mineka
Wickramasingha has extended an invitation for other interested parties
to join the delegation through the Philippine Consulate General in
Colombo.
"The Philippines has immense potential as a market for Sri Lanka with
a population of 97 million people and a GDP per capita of US$ 3,300,"
according to LankaPhil executive committee member and officer Joel
Selvanayagam.
This event is being organized by the Sri Lanka Embassy in the
Philippines to promote Sri Lanka in the Southeast Asian region.
Lankan private sector tour operators, SLTB and BOI will also be
represented.
