Fresh Norwegian attempt to break peace deadlock

Norwegian Embassy Charge de Affaires Laegreid Oddavar and Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission Chief Hagrup Haukland will embark on a fresh attempt today in Kilinochchi for facilitating a direct dialogue between the Government and the LTTE over issues affecting both sides in recent days.

LTTE Jaffna political leader returns

LTTE Jaffna district political head C. Ilamparithi Friday returned to Jaffna after consultation with LTTE leadership in Killinochchi. The LTTE leadership invited him for a discussion on the current political situation of the Northeast Province, sources said.
