Four wicket win for Vidyartha

Aggressive batting by Vidyartha College helped them to defeat St. Mary's College, Kegalle by four wickets in their schools under 17 division cricket tournament match played at the public grounds Kegalle.

The match was reduced to 20 overs per side due to wet weather condition.

The Kegalle Marian's taking first strike made a good 137 for 3 in 20 overs setting their opponents a target of 138 which required a run rate of nearly 7 runs per over.

The Vidyarthian took u the challenge and won with 5 balls to spare with K.K. Jayasuriya (41) and Isuru Weerasinghe (37) being their main scores for St. Mary's College A.L. Senadeera bowled will to capture 5 for 25.

St. Mary's College: 137 for 3 in 20 overs St. Mary's College (A.L. Senadeera 16, D.K. Ratnayake 65).

Vidyartha College: 141 for 6 in 19.1 over (S.D. Dyawatta 14, D.D. Dissanayake 21, K.K. Jayasuriya 41, I.S. Werasinghe 37, A.L. Senadeera 5 for 25).
