Saraswathy National School,Badulla emerge champions

Saraswathy National School Badulla beat Bandarawela Tamil Central
College by 128 runs and with a fine overall display emerged champions in
the Hardball Friendly Cricket Fixture under the title of 'Battle of
Bats' was conducted at the Bandarawela Municipal Council Grounds
recently.

Badulla Saraswathy who batted the first inning led by the captain Roy
Bosney were shot out for 219 runs losing all the wickets and Bandarawela
Tamil Central who batted the second inning led by Navaneethan to reach
the winning target were shot out for 92 runs losing all the wickets.
Gobinath and Chandrakanth of Saraswathy National College were
adjudged best batsman and best bowler respectively. The hardball
friendly cricket fixture was well organized by the sports committee of
Bandarawela Tamil central College with the leadership and guidance of
the principal, vice principal and the PTI.
Hon. Minister Vadivel Suresh, the Consultant secretary to His
Excellency the president, members of Bandarawela Municipal Council,
members of SDS, Past Pupil Association, Old students, well-wishers,
parents, and the present students of both schools were present to grace
the occasion.
Badulla Saraswathy NS: 219 in 30.5 overs ( S.Gobinath 44,

Bandarawela Tamil CC: 92 in 19.3 overs ( Maheshan 19, Chris
