Navy hands over arrested Indian fishermen

Navy handed over a group of Indian fishermen arrested by the naval troops for crossing the International Maritime Boundary Lines (IMBL) illegally, to the Indian Coast Guard, yesterday.

According to the Navy Media Unit, the Indian Coast Guard Ship named, Raj Kamal had come to repatriate the 24 fishermen along with their five fishing trawlers.

This repatriation took place in the seas off Thalaimannar, the media unit said. Meanwhile another group of Indian fishermen who were arrested for the same offense will be handed over to the Indian Coast Guard today in the seas off Kankasanthurai.

This group comprises 25 fishermen and four fishing trawlers. These persons and fishing trawlers will be handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship named Raj Sri.
