Royal Institute beat Leighton Park by four goals to nil

Royal Institute powered their way to a comprehensive four goals to nil victory over Leighton Park in their inter-international schools under 17 boys football tournament match worked off at the Municipal ground in Kirulopane yesterday.

The winners after having led one nil at half time completely dominated the second quarter and added three more goals to their tally with Hadad Malik (2), Saffi Abdullah (1) and Shahim Ilham (1) doing the scoring. Meanwhile in another boys tournament match Lyceum College, Wattala defeated Lyceum College, Nugegoda by four goals to two goals after the scores had been level 2-2 at half time. Arafat Shyam and Rajendra Thushnam booted two goals each for the winners while Tharindu Weerakoon and Avinash Perera scored a goal each for Lyceum College Nugegoda. In contrast Stafford International School and Asian International School figured in an exciting nil all draw in another boys tournament match played at the same venue. The tournament organized and conducted by The British School in Colombo in collaboration with the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) will be continued today.
