Kovil kapurala killing: suspect arrested
A suspect wanted in connection with the killing
of Eshvara Kovil, Valliguha temple, Kataragama, kapurala, Rajapakse
Mudiyanselage Premadasa was arrested on Sunday in Badulla by
Kataragama Police. The kapurala was killed on June 3 night. His body
was found by one of his nephews on June 5 in a shrubbery of the
temple premises.

Over 80 gamblers arrested from Colombo 7 Club

Division of the Police arrested over 80 persons on Monday while
gambling in a club in the heart of Colombo 7 which did not possess a
licence for gambling. They also took into custody three persons who
ran the club.

Ayurveda doctor’s son held with Cannabis haul
Matara Division Crimes Detective Unit officials
raided a house in Walasmulla and arrested a man with 702 kgs of
cannabis valued at over Rs. 10 million. The suspect is the son of an
ayurveda doctor. He had been carrying out this illegal business
through a permit issued to another ayurveda doctor in Talawa,
Anuradhapura.
