DSS concede a walk-over to Trinity

The curtain raiser match of the Milo inter-schools under 20 knock out
rugby tournament for the President’s Trophy between D.S.Senanayake
College and Trinity College Kandy did not take place yesterday as the
D.S.Senanayake team did not take the field and conceded a walk over to
Trinity College, Kandy.
D.S.Senanayake who scored a stunning 22 - 20 win over
S.Thomas’College a week ago were not prepared for the match as only 14
players were available for practice on Monday.
Johnians in easy win
Meanwhile, St.John’s College Nugegoda beat St.Aloysius College Galle
by 23 points (one goal, two tries and two penalties) to nil in their
quarter final match for the Chairman’s Trophy.
St John’s College scored the tries through their flanker
S.A.T.Madushan (one), prop Anushka Edirisinghe(one) and prop Kanishka
Wickramasinghe (one) while fly half Kanishka Perera added the extra
points to Anushka’s try and contributed for the Johnians with two
penalties.
The Aloysians showcased a poor game and their opponents didn’t
allowed them to score a single try with the fierce tacking and solid
defence.
The president’s trophy quarter final match between Science College
Mount Lavinia and Wesley College will take place at the same venue at
4.15 pm today. |
