Ayurveda doctor’s son held with Cannabis haul

Matara Division Crimes Detective Unit officials raided a house in Walasmulla and arrested a man with 702 kgs of cannabis valued at over Rs. 10 million. The suspect is the son of an ayurveda doctor.

He had been carrying out this illegal business through a permit issued to another ayurveda doctor in Talawa, Anuradhapura.

The suspect had used the cannabis powder to make ganja coffee and send it to Jaffna, Batticaloa and Ampara, the Police said.

The suspect was produced before the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court.
